#ThisDiva is finding her groove!

I'm nearing my one month anniversary in Oahu and I've already mastered two things...shopping...and eating! Thanks to the Japanese tourists who frequent the island, many designers have gotten wise and opened up shops on the rock...but locals don't seem to care about the "what's hot" so you can find amazing items and deals at the local outlets. I managed to fit in twenty-five minutes of uninterrupted shopping at a downtown Ross just before work and walked out with six dresses, a fringed jacket and a handful of shoes...and the total barely came above $100 #thisdivaisinheaven!

Now, the food! I mean, Hawai'i could be categorized as a fat kid's dream with the amount of carbs, sweets and global delicacies that are found here! I've managed to try things like a "Coco Puff" from Liliha Bakery, pa'i'ai (fried taro) and manapua from Char Hung Sut. To be honest, I've had the latter prior to my move, but it's so "ono" (delish!) that I had to list it! Needless to say, my gym membership will be coming in very handy, but that's another story!

So I'll just leave you with a few snapshots of my Martin Luther King Day spent at the Ko'Olina Lagoons. I unfortunately did have to work, but hopped out just in time to enjoy the beach and the beautiful sunset. As everyone keeps telling me...if you're gonna live in Hawai'i, you've gotta LIVE in Hawai'i...so here's to living a fabulous life! A hui ho!

#ThisDiva is living in paradise!

I have officially been a resident of Hawai'i for one week...and I am quickly acclimating to island living! Granted, rush hour traffic is horrendous and I may have been bitten by a bat-sized mosquito, but overall, there is no doubt why Hawai'i is considered one of the happiest cities to live. The island, the culture, the food, the people...it's paradise!

Don't get me wrong...I haven't escaped all of the stresses of corporate NYC behind me, but at least when I leave the office at 5pm {insert sounds of my friends in Advertising gasping of disbelief} I can end my day with breathtaking scenery, sand between my toes and an ocean breeze. Today, I bolted out of the office and headed straight down to Ala Moana Beach just in time to walk along the shore and watch the sunset.

Ummm...yeah, I can definitely get use to this! So "Hang Loose" and "A Hui Hou"!

So I hope you join me on my journey towards bringing a little NYC fabulousness to the middle of the Pacific and see what this new year has in store!...so as the locals say, "A hui hou"....until we meet again!
